Avenue of Honour

Avenue of Honour

The original Avenue of Honour of cypress trees was planted in 1919 to remember those who lost their lives in World War 1. The Avenue of Honour was burnt on Black Saturday 2009 and replanted on the eve of ANZAC Day 2010. Kurrajong trees were planted by school children, RSL members, relatives of those honoured by the Avenue, and many other members of the community. The Avenue now commemorates those Australians lost in all theatres of war.
