Walking around Coleraine
The Bridge

Over the years, there were a variety of bridges across Bryan Creek. Queen's Park was the Golf Course at one time, and the town Swimming Pool was located near the Creek, as well as the Football Ground. Everyone had to cross the bridge to get to the Sporting Grounds. When the football game finished, crowds of people would walk back to town across the bridge.
At one stage there was a “Swing Bridge”, made of timber planks and rails, and with many people crossing this bridge at once, it would really sway and swing! Today's single lane vehicle bridge to Silvester Oval is located a little to the east of the Swing Bridge site.
